Committed: Youthful N.Y.C. club supervisor believes in pledge at work and in her matrimony albeit she’s enclosed by stoner buddies, so she’s thrown for a loop while her husband Wilson bolts to “find him-self.” Graham is the entire show here, although she’s adhered in a lightweight street-film/lifestyle-conflict story. If this is screwball romance for the new millennium, we’re in trouble. The Vow: (2001) C-l24 Nevada detective, on the night of his retirement, finds that he is engaged in the case of a little gal’s murder and vows to her parents that he can bring the murderer to due process. Another awesome Nicholson acting job anchors this fine-tuned film, which sidesteps recipe in favor of nuance. The Vow is based on the novel by Friedrich Durrenmatt. Cast includes Jack Nicholson, Robin Wright Penn, Benicio Del Toro, Vanessa Redgrave, Tom Noonan, Patricia ClllIkson, Michael O’Keefe, Aaron Eckhart, Costas Mandylor, Helen Mirren, Mickey Rourke, and Sam Shepard. Dynamite Chicken: Abnormal, un-contemporary pastiche of melodies, skits, TV advertisement burlesques and old film snippets, filmed while nudity and profanity on celluloid were still stunning. House of Wax: A group of buddies heading to a college football game take a shortcut, and find themselves stranded, get split apart, trip into a defected town, and enter a home of wax with a “closed” register the window. Plays like an average horror flip, however with modern-day, “fleshed-out” characters. An in-name-only redo of the 1953 film, albeit the wax sculptor is identified Vincent. Cast includes Jaume Serra, Elisha Cuthbert, Brian Holt, Paris Hilton, Jared Padalecki, Jon Abrahams, Robert Richard, and Damon Herriman. R (105 minutes, 2005)

Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Curse OF The Black Pearl: Elizabeth, the daughter of the Jamaican Governor, has been kidnapped by the crew of the Black Pearl. She is needed to lift a curse of the old ship. Elizabeth’s friend Will, who is completely in love with her, gets pirate captain Jack Sparrow to help him rescue her.

The Good Shepard: Edward Wilson, a patriotic American, finds himself working for the OSS (what will become the CIA). When the war ends, he becomes one of the founders of the CIA. He is intensely devoted to his career, eventually at the expense of everything else in his life.
